We are happy to provide free searches to staff, patients and family members from institutions participating in the Hospital Library Program. For all others a fee covering the cost of the service will be charged.

Get Password for MD/FirstConsult

FirstConsult/MDConsult has been replaced by ClinicalKey.  To access ClinicalKey outside the Library, eligible Samaritan Staff should contact the Library directly to receive a password for Athens, which is a web-based portal where remote users can access most Library journals and databases remotely.  Staff at institutions participating in the Hospital Library Program do not have immediate  acess to Library databases or journals, but may contact the Library directly or use the Ask A Librarian web form to request a photocopy or pdf of articles or other items fournd in all Library journals and databases.

Borrow Videos & Books

To identify items owned by the Hunter-Rice Library, please consult the online catalog. Books and videos normally circulate for a two-week period. Loan of materials is limited to staff at institutions participating in the Hospital Library Program. Items not available in the Hunter-Rice Library collection are usually available via interlibrary loan.

Ordering the Full Text

The library has access to a number of online full text journals. To see if the journal title in question is available, consult the journal listing. Some titles are freely available anywhere, others require a password and some are only available from the hospital network. Passwords will be provided, when necessary, to qualified users.
